Liu Yan- The 26 year old Chinese dancer fell off a platform onto her back during rehersal for her solo at the Opening Ceremonies, so the billion or so viewers never got to see this. Doctors aren’t sure if she’ll ever walk again, which is an absolute tragedy. Pictures and videos of the Olympians are everywhere on the internet, and it’s a damn shame that this athlete-artist didn’t get her time on stage. She is one of the finest dancers I have ever seen.
